The Sac County Sheriff’s office has arrested a Minnesota woman and charged her with aiding in the drug-related death of her mother in Auburn. Twenty-eight-year-old Tara Bryant of Byron, Minnesota was arrested Tuesday in Olmstead county Minnesota after an arrest warrant had been issued out of Sac County. Bryant is being held in Olmstead County awaiting extradition back to Iowa where she faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance. Bryant is accused of contributing to the death of her mother, 50-year-old Carol Bryant. Carol Bryant was found dead in her home by family members on the morning of September 25th. The following day family members told the sheriff they believed Tara Bryant may have given their moth methadone — a prescription medication that aids in the recovery from heroin addiction. Autopsy results received by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Carol Bryant had died of a methadone overdose.
