High school football playoff action in class 1A this evening features second rated Aplington-Parkersburg at home against number-six Gladbrook-Reinbeck. It is the tenth time in the last 11 years that Aplington-Parkersburg has made the playoffs but coach Ed Thomas says they will have their hands full against a Rebel team that finished as the state runner-up in 2004. He says their kids believe in what they’re doing and work very hard. He says they have great skill kids and are very big on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Gladbrook-Reinbeck coach Chris Ehrhart says the Falcons know what it takes to win. He says they’re a fundamentally sound football team that’s aggressive.
