Northwestern coach Randy Walker says the Wildcat offense is not good enough to overcome penalties. In last week’s loss to Michigan the Wildcats were called for holding on four straight possessions in the second half and Walker says they need to eliminate those mistakes when they host the Iowa Hawkeyes.

He says he thinks they’re a good offense, but he says it’s tough when you have to overcome a first and 20 after a holding penalty. He says you feel like you don’t have a chance when you get behind like that.

This is a a big game for both teams. They enter with identical 3-2 Big Ten records and are both 5-3 overall. Walker says Kirk Ferentz does a good job and Iowa has been at the top of the league the last several years. He says Iowa is playing good football right now.
