A man wanted on escape charges from Colorado was arrested Sunday following a chase in western Iowa’s Pottawatomie County. The Iowa State Patrol says Christopher Tantlinger was a passenger in a car driven by Tiffany Burns, who is also from Colorado.

After Burns was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 80 near Council Bluffs, troopers say Tantlinger gave them false information. When the trooper went to turn off the ignition, he was allegedly grabbed by both Burns and Tantlinger, and assaulted. Burns then sped off, with the trooper in pursuit.

The chase made its way into the Council Bluffs city limits, and finally ended at the intersection of Washington and Curtis Streets. Both suspects fled on foot, but were apprehended and taken to the Pott County Jail. Two State Patrol vehicles and one civilian car were damaged in the pursuit, but no injuries were reported. The name of the Trooper involved in the altercation has not been released.
