Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says the Cyclones can’t worry about things they cannot control. ISU closes out the regular season on Saturday and if Nebraska beats Colorado the Cyclones will be playing for the Big-12 North title.

McCarney says the only thing they can control is to go down and be as good as they can be and try to get the first win by a visiting team this season. One way or the other they will know before kickoff. The Nebraska-Colorado game is on Friday and the team will be on buses traveling to Kansas. McCarney says if they lose any of their edge because of what they learn from the Nebraska game, then they’re in trouble.

The Jayhawks also have plenty of motivation. A victory gives them a winning season and makes them eligible for a bowl game. Kansas coach Mark Mangino says it’s a good feeling to have something to play for this late in the year. He says they still expect to have a big crowd despite the holiday weekend. Mangino says they don’t look at this as a chance to spoil Iowa State’s chances. He says their motivation is to go on and play another game in the postseason.
