Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says the movie “Caddyshack” will be on during Friday’s bus ride to Lawrence, Kansas and not the game between Nebraska and Colorado.

A Husker victory would give ISU a chance to win the Big-12 North by winning at Kansas on Saturday. McCarney says there will plenty on the line no matter what happens on Friday. McCarney says this is a real mature football team and he says they’re not sticking their head in the sand, but he says they know the difference in bowl games they can achieve with a win.

McCarney says a chance to finish with eight wins should provide enough motivation. He says they had their chances to control their own destiny in the conference race and lost it, and now can control that destiny when it comes to a bowl game. McCarney says he wants to finish as one of the hottest teams in the country.

Quarterback Bret Meyer says he won’t even bother following the score of Friday’s game, as he says they have to win their game anyway. There are plenty of bowl possibilities out there for the Cyclones and they improve with a victory. Meyer says they think about it, but they know 8-3 is better than 7-4. Tight end Ben Barkema was asked if he is going to follow Friday’s game on the way to Kansas. He says probably not. Barkema says while the Cyclones are focusing on Kansas they would like it if Nebraska beat Colorado.
