Services are pending for an Iowa National Guard soldier from Pocahontas who was killed in Iraq last week. Specialist Gregory Tull, who had been in Iraq since early this year, was killed last Friday when the Humvee he was in was hit by a roadside bomb about 40 miles northwest of Baghdad.

Iowa National Guard spokesman Greg Hapgood says Tull was scheduled to return home during the next month. The 20-year-old Tull was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from the Pocahontas Area High School in 2003. He had enlisted in the National Guard in 2002 and volunteered for active duty in Iraq one year ago. Tull was assigned to the First Battalion, 194th Field Artillery unit, based in Storm Lake.
