The State Auditor has found a former Keokuk County employee apparently had the taxpayers buy her a new iPod. Julie Harris was the I-T director for Keokuk County from December of 2002 until earlier this year when she resigned to take a similar job in Warren County.

The new Keokuk County I-T director unearthed some questionable expenses, and a state audit confirms that Harris bought a two-hundred-49 dollar iPod last November and had the county pay for it. The audit concluded Harris had had the county pay another seven-hundred-12 dollars for things that she used as personal items and were not county equipment or supplies.

Harris also failed to pay the proper licensing fees on software she installed on various county computers.
