Tickets for U-N-I’s national championship football game in Tennessee this Friday night are selling fast. Lindsay Nolan, the manager of ticket sales for this game, says the university got 5,000 tickets that went on sale at eight this (Monday) morning. “It has been very crazy,” Nolan says. “But the enthusiasm of the fans has been great and the support of the community has been overwhelming.”

By noon today (Monday), half of the U-N-I allottment for the Division IAA championship game had been snapped up. “It is going to be a big game,” Nolan says. Nolan predicts they’ll sell all 5,000 tickets by the end of business today or perhaps sometime tomorrow. The stadium in Chattanooga has a capacity of 20,000. U-N-I and Appalachia State each got 5,000 tickets. The rest go to corporate sponsors of the championship game as well as the host stadium’s season ticket holders.

Tickets are $20, and the UNI allotment is only available for sale by phone at 319-273-3663 or in person at the ticket window in the UNI-Dome. The Panthers staged a come-from-behind victory this past Friday night over Texas State to advance to the championship game in their division.
