Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says associate head coach Terry Allen will be on the sidelines when the Cyclones play T-C-U in the December 31st Houston Bowl. Allen was named the new head coach at Missouri State Tuesday after spending the past four years on the I-S-U staff. He says bowl games are rewards for everyone’s efforts, so Allen will go with them to Houston.

Allen was the head coach at Kansas before joining McCarney’s staff and he played and coached at U-N-I where he led the Panthers to seven straight Gateway Conference titles. McCarney says it’s a great sign of the program that other schools want to hire one of his assistants. McCarney says he’ll miss Allen, as they really enjoy working together.
