The Iowa Hawkeye women are on the road to play Wisconsin Thursday night in Big Ten play. The Hawkeyes are 4-2 in conference play and will finish up the week against Minnesota. It will be the only meeting with both teams this season and coach Lisa Bluder says that gives the outcomes added importance, as if it comes down to head to head competition you have an advantage when it comes to the N-C-A-A Tournament if you win.

The Badgers are 1-6 in the Big Ten but they have one of the league’s top guards in Jolene Anderson. She leads Wisconsin in scoring, rebounding and assists, one of the rare kids that Bluder say can score at will.

Wisconsin coach Lisa Stone says dealing with the quickness of Iowa guard Crystal Smith is a concern. Stone says Smith has a God-given quickness all over the floor. Stone says Smith is difficult to defend. She says Smith can shoot the three or drive in on you. Stone says Smith is a well-rounded senior leader.

Iowa is 11-6 overall. The Badgers are 6-11.
