Authorities in western Iowa’s Cass County scored a solid hit in the war on drugs, Monday. Cass County Sheriff Bill Sage says at around three P.M. yesterday (Monday), the Iowa State Patrol stopped a Colorado truck headed eastbound on Interstate 80 near the Atlantic exit.

A K-9 unit was called in to assist with a search of the vehicle and was able to detect the presence of narcotics. A more thorough investigation resulted in the recovery of 210-pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of 400-thousand dollars. After the drugs were discovered, authorities arrested Luis Pena and Ivory Salinas. They are currently being held in the Cass County jail on 21-thousand 450-dollars bond, each.
