The Iowa Hawkeyes scored the first seven points of the game and never trailed in a 73-60 win over 13th ranked Indiana last night in Iowa City. Adam Haluska led four Hawkeyes in double figures with 20-points. He also added ten rebounds. Haluska says they came out and battled and gave a team effort and all-around great game.

A big key to the game was the start of the second half. The Hawkeyes outscored the Hoosiers 14-0 to take command. Haluska says they’ve been trying to emphasize that, punching first at the start of the half. Haluska says they did that against Indiana and it seemed to take the Hoosiers out of their rhythm.

Defense was again a big part of the game for the Hawkeyes. Indiana shot only 37-percent for the game. Huluska says it’s their goal to hold teams under 65 points and he says with the help of the home crowd they were able to do it.

Iowa coach Steve Alford felt his team played well at both ends. He says they kept Indiana off the free-throw line, they got loose balls, they made good shots and got a good effort out of everybody. Iowa is now 4-2 in the Big Ten and 15-5 overall. They will continue the homestand this weekend against Ohio State.
