Federal prosecutors have offered the Charles City man who helped raise a five-year-old girl slain last July a plea agreement in his child pornography case. Casey Frederiksen is facing 14 child pornography counts for allegedly having computer images of children engaging in sexual conduct.

Authorities allege that Frederiksen tried to hide a personal computer containing more than one thousand images of children involved in sexual acts after the investigation into five-year-old Evelyn Miller’s death started.

Court documents are showing that a plea deal was offered to Frederiksen last week, though terms of the offer are sealed unless he approves the deal. Frederiksen’s lawyer, Jane Kelly, has asked for an extension in filing pre-trial motions as she wants to review the plea deal. As of right now, Frederiksen’s trial is set to begin on April 3rd. If convicted on all 14 counts, he faces at least five years and up to 260 years in prison.
