The U-N-I Panthers remain 25th in the latest Associated Press top 25 men’s college basketball poll, but the biggest concern for the Panthers is Tuesday’s showdown at home against Wichita State in a battle of two of the teams tied at the top of the Valley standings. U-N-I is 10-3 in the conference race and 20-4 overall.

U-N-I guard John Little says it’s a great accomplishment to win 20 games as only a few teams have done that. Little says they don’t give any awards for winning 20 games and the team has a tough fight ahead to win the conference. Little had 11 points in the Panthers 83-56 win over Indiana State on Saturday.

With Eric Coleman sidelined depth has been a problem but the bench played well in Saturday’s win. U-N-I coach Greg McDermott says there’s usually a little better comfort level at home than on the road. McDermott says the team had their chins down a little following a road loss and they needed this shot in the arm.
