The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is looking into the discovery of oil in the water supply at a business in Shelby. Officials tested the water and traced the problem to a daycare, then quickly closed off a contaminated supply line to prevent the rest of the city’s water supply from becoming affected.

The daycare center was moved to another location in town, and the D-N-R’s calling the contamination an isolated incident, assuring residents that the rest of the town’s water supply is safe to drink.
