A run of heartbreaking defeats continued for the Drake Bulldogs who fell at Illinois State 58-56 in overtime in Missouri Valley play. The Bulldogs missed three shots ion the waning seconds that would have sent the game to a second overtime.

Drake coach Tom Davis who says despite a 5-11 Valley record and 12-15 overall mark his team is not throwing in the towel. He says they’re getting better, he says the league is so tough that getting better isn’t good enough to get a win. Davis says they have to keep improving idividually and as a team.

Davis says he isn’t worried about losing the team, as he says he told them they worked hard, but says he did point out some of the break downs. Davis says they now have to move on.
The Bulldogs visit California-Irvine on Saturday as part of the Bracket Busters.
