The Iowa Central Community College wrestling program is celebrating a national championship. The Tritons won the team title at the national junior college tournament over the weekend in Rochester,Minnesota. Iowa Central coach Luke Moffitt who was named national coach of the year says they took all ten guys and says he was worried about how many they could get into All-American status.

The Tritons ended up with seven All-Americans and three national champions. Moffitt hopes the success pays off on the recruiting trail. He says they’ll have a lot of holes to fill and will be out recruiting hard as he says he wants to win another title and then another. Moffitt says “it was a lot of fun” and he wants to make a habit out of winning.

Moffitt was a state champion at Estherville-Lincoln Central High School, a national junior college champion and a Big Ten champion. He now is a national champion coach and was asked which accomplishment means the most. He says this is easily better as he says he wrestles the match with his kids every time they take the mat.
