Two people were killed in a housefire just north of Ottumwa early Sunday morning. Wapello County authorities say four people were inside the home and only two escaped. The victims are identified as 20-year-old Nathan Messer and 22-year-old Seth Anderson, both of Ottumwa. There’s no word yet on a possible cause.
