Two Grinnell police officers were hurt last night (Thursday) while capturing a suspect in a stabbing case. Police spokesman Sergeant Randy Hanssen says they got a 9-1-1 call about 11:15 P.M. following an incident at a home. Hanssen says officers responded and found the victim, who was taken to the hospital. In their investigation, a suspect was identified who was later apprehended. Hanssen says when police officers tried to subdue the suspect, they were injured, though he wouldn’t specify how.

One of the officers was treated and released while the other officer did not need treatment. The victim, 55-year-old Chad Elliott of Grinnell, was treated for stab wounds and released. 35-year-old Christopher Anderson of Grinnell is charged with attempted murder. Anderson was also treated for injuries.
