The halftime stats said it all. Bellevue Marquette seven-foot center Jordan Eglseder had 27 points and 13 rebounds at the intermission while as a team Northwood-Kensett had 22 points and 12 rebounds. Eglseder finished with 40 points and 20 rebounds as the second rated Mohawks moved into the 1A title game with a 66-47 win. He says they came out and ran their offense very well.

After spending most of the season surrounded by three defenders Eglseder had more room to operate against the Vikings. He says they had a bigger guy, so they didn’t put “a whole bunch of smaller guys on me.”

Northwood-Kensett coach Mart Cotter says once Eglseder catches it down low he is impossible to stop. He says that’s what they talked about with his team as he says once Eglseder gets the ball, “He’s tougher than hell.” Cotter says everybody in the arena knew Eglseder was going to get the ball, but they still couldn’t stop him.
