The Iowa Court of Appeals has rejected the arguments of a Des Moines man who’s spending time in prison after a jury convicted him in connection with a drive-by shooting. Alf Freddy Clark was convicted of attempted murder and terrorism for a drive-by shooting that happened in the summer of 1999. Cops say Clark was the driver of the car, he stopped it, got out and shot at another man outside a Des Moines home. None of the shots hit the man.

Clark appealed his conviction before and the courts rejected his arguments. This time, he claimed his lawyer was ineffective, he had an alibi that he’d never told his lawyer about and there should be a new trial because of an “accumulation of errors.” The court of appeals has rejected Clark’s new arguments, too, saying they have “no merit.”
