A four-million dollar bond issue was passed by voters Tuesday for improvements to the Clarion-Goldfield Community Schools. Unofficial returns show the bond issue passed with 670 “yes” votes and 264 “no” votes, that’s about 71-percent approval and it needed 60-percent to pass.

The bonds will be used to renovate the Clarion-Goldfield Middle School, which is 50 years old. The bonds will also be used for a new addition to the Clarion-Goldfield High School, for a new library and media center, new chemistry and computer labs, three new classrooms and geothermal heating for the rest of the building.
