The father of accused western Iowa child pornographer Brian Street has been sentenced to one-year in jail for child abuse. A judge in Clay County, Nebraska, district court Thursday, sentenced 64-year-old Franklin Street to 360 days in jail, less credit for 170 days served while awaiting the disposition of his case. In May, Street pleaded no contest to one count of negligent child abuse for physically assaulting a developmentally disabled seven-year old boy he and his wife Diane had adopted and were caring for. Street’s 38-year-old son, Brian, is awaiting a Federal trial in Davenport, for allegedly forcing his stepdaughter, Tracey Dyess, to perform sex acts and engage in child pornography. His trial was recently continued for a ninth time. A new trial date has not yet been set. Tracey Dyess is serving a 45-year prison term for setting a fire at the family’s home in Griswold in March of 2005. The blaze was intended to kill Street, but instead took the lives of her sister and nephew.
