Newly-released campaign finance reports show the Democrat’s candidate for governor got a fundraising bounce after emerging victorious from the four-way June 6th primary — and the Republican candidate has already spent about $3 million.

In the past month-and-a-half, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Chet Culver raised just over $1.4 million. Jim Nussle, the Republican candidate for governor, raised one-third that much from May 31st to July 14th — for a total of about $450,000.

Nussle, though, has more cash on hand, about $1.5 million. Culver has about $1.25 million in the bank. Culver has thus far raised about $3.2 million to run for governor. Nussle has raised about $4.2 million.
