Nevada woman was killed and three other people injured in a 2-vehicle crash yesterday (Thursday) west of Baxter. Troopers say 79-year-old Opal Maxine Castle was a passenger in a westbound van driven by her husband when 80-year-old Raymond Castle crossed two lanes and their van was hit by a pickup. Raymond Castle, life-flighted to Des Moines, was cited for failing to obey a “Yield” sign.

His wife Opal Castle was killed in the crash. The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Tracy Weave of State Center, and her 16-year-old daughter Tanya were injured and were taken taken to a Marshalltown hospital.
