On a team dominated by seniors it was a sophomore who provided a big lift for second rated Center Point-Urbana. Jared Kuehner tripled in the Pointer’s first run of the game, scored on a passed ball late in the game and threw out St. Ansgar’s Dallas Hendrickson from right field for the second out in the bottom of the seventh in a 3-2 victory over the ninth-rated Saints. Patrick Retzlaff tossed a five hitter as the Pointers advance to Thursday night’s 2A semifinal round with a record of 34-6. St. Ansgar closes out the season with a record of 30-7.
