Authorities have called off their search for a man feared drowned in Cedar Falls. Officials say there are no signs that anyone fell in the water. Search crews responded to a possible drowning in the Cedar River early yesterday (Tuesday) morning. They immediately searched the river and surrounding area, but found nothing.

Around midnight, witnesses reported hearing someone yell for help near the dam and a splash, but didn’t see anyone fall in. Authorities say there are no reports of a missing person, and they can’t find any abandoned car, bicycle, fishing gear, or any other sign that someone is missing. So, crews have decided to suspend their search indefinitely.
