Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals says they’re still looking for clues to find the culprit who started a fire that destroyed thousands of cars in a junk yard in Mason City last month. The damage that Behr Mason City suffered in the fire is now estimated to be over the one-million dollar mark.

Pals says investigators need whatever help they can get. Pals says they’ve followed up on a couple of new leads, but need more information before making an arrest. Pals says that Behr is offering a substantial reward for information in the case, which he hopes will motivate people to come forward with additional information.

Pals says Behr is offering a 25-thousand dollar reward — which he says is an unusual occurrence. Anyone with information about the fire at Behr is asked to contact the Cerro Gordo Sheriff’s Office at 641- 421-3000 or Crime Stoppers of North Iowa at 800- 383-0088.
