A prisoner who’s originally from the northwest Iowa town of Sloan is in deeper legal trouble. The federal inmate has been indicted for a third time on charges he mailed threatening letters. On Wednesday, a federal grand jury in West Virginia indicted Kyle Amsden on eleven counts of mailing threatening communications to federal officials and others in Sioux City. The 36-year-old is an imate at the federal lockup in Hazelton. He allegedly mailed letters from the prison in May 2005 to court offices and the F-B-I in Sioux City. The alleged threats included rape, torture and murder. If convicted, Amsden faces ten more years in prison and a quarter-million dollar fine on each count.
