An Allegiant Airlines jet was evacuated last night (Sunday) moments after it touched down in Cedar Rapids from Las Vegas. Passenger Lynette Nugent says the cabin filled with smoke shortly after the plane landed.

Nugent says “We all kind of noticed an odor. Then, all of a sudden, smoke started filling up. Not thick smoke, but an electrical-type smoke. Everybody thought we were just going to get off the plane. Then they decided to use the slides.”

Two passengers were hurt going down the emergency slides. Officials at the Eastern Iowa Airport say there was no fire and they’re still trying to figure out what caused the smoke.
