Green County authorities are releasing more details about a fatal weekend car-truck crash. Seventeen-year-old Baylee D. Tews, of Guthrie Center, died after her 1995 Buick Regal crashed into a semi driven by 21-year-old Joshua Asmus, of Lake City.
Asmus was traveling south on Iowa Highway 25 at around 9:15 a.m. Sunday when the rig he was driving was hit by Tews as she was headed east on Greene County Road E-63. Authorities say Tews died at the scene of the accident, while Asmus was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
The accident remains under investigation. Services for Baylee Tews will be held 1:30-p.m. Wednesday, in the Guthrie Center High School gymnasium.
