The U-N-I Panthers will be looking to bounce back this weekend when they host South Dakota State in non-conference play. The Panthers were stunned in their home opener last week by division two North Dakota and dropped to 12th in the latest 1-AA poll.

Panther coach Mark Farley says he can’t predict what will happen Saturday, but he knows what he’ll do to his team to get it ready. Farley says the core of the team is headed in the right direction.

Farley says there will be changes this week, as he says anytime you have a loss like last Saturday, there has to be consequences. Farley says some other people will get a chance to try and win positions.

Farley says the Panthers made too many mistakes against North Dakota. He says the things he feared in the first football game, happened in the second game. Farley says they did not have the energy needed to play the game and had mental breakdowns. Farley says the upside is that it wasn’t a conference game and they have a chance to clean things up. Farley says a ground football team is an alert football team, and they will be ready for this week.
