A northeast Iowa man has been sentenced to over five years in prison for illegally stashing dozens of firearms in a secret space under his house. Forty-four-year-old Scott Moses of Dike had pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of firearms and one count of possessing a short-barrelled rife.

In January, law enforcement officers search Moses’ resident in Dike and found more than 72 firearms and ammunition. Most of the guns were stored in a specially made storage compartment under the house, which could be accessed through a door under the rear deck. Moses has a previous conviction of manufacturing methamphetamine. He was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids to 70 months in prison and fined 12-thousand-500 dollars.
