The Iowa Hawkeyes have fallen to 19th on the latest Associated Press top 25. The Hawkeyes suffered their first loss of the season 38-17 to top ranked Ohio State Saturday night. The Buckeyes never trailed and put the game away in the third quarter with two scoring drives.

Iowa’s best chance came in the second quarter when trailing 14-10 the Hawks got the ball at midfield. They went three and out and Ohio State followed with a touchdown drive. Hawkeye coach Kirk Ferentz says they would have liked to have gotten some points, saying that would have been critical. But Ohio State responded and scored after holding Iowa.

The Hawkeyes return to action at home this weekend when they host Purdue. The Boilermakers are coming off a loss to Notre Dame. Ferentz says Purdue is always tough and home and his team will have to shake off the loss.
The Hawkeyes are 4-1.
