The Iowa Hawkeyes are up to 13th on the latest coaches top 25 after rolling past Purdue 47-17 on Saturday. The Iowa offense rolled up 286-yards on the ground, including 155 from Damian Sims, and after going through his first full week of practice this season quarterback Drew Tate finished 17-of-23 for 253 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says it doesn’t matter how long you’ve played, you need practice to be sharp. Ferentz says it was evident the way Tate played that the practice paid off.

The Hawkeyes improve to 5-1 overall and will visit an Indiana team that rallied for a victory at Illinois. Ferentz says Indiana will be fired up and he says the Hoosiers gave his team a hard time last year. Ferentz says his team has to keep its focus on improving.
