Iowa’s health is a concern as the Hawkeyes get set to visit second ranked Michigan in the Big Ten. A number of players sat out last week’s upset loss at Indiana and a few more were hurt in that game. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says it comes and goes and there’s no way to predict it, as it’s part of the game. He says some of the injured players could be ready by Saturday.

Running back Albert Young could be ready to play. He has missed the last two games with a sprained knee. Ferentz says the biggest factor when you miss several weeks is that it requires more work to get back into the flow of things.

An already inexperienced receiving corps lost Dominique Douglas to a knee injury against Indiana. Ferentz says that unit needs to develop consistency. Ferentz says you always want to improve and be consistent and he says he didn’t see anything Saturday where they were consistent.

Ferentz says Michigan’s success begins up front on both sides of the ball as he says their line play is “extremely impressive.” Ferentz says the Hawkeyes must eliminate the turnovers, dropped passes and foolish penalties that plagued them at Indiana if they want to have any chance this week.

Ferentz says when you play against a team that doesn’t make mistakes, any mistake you make is magnified and you have to play a very clean game.
