The football teams at Morningside and Northwestern College will take time off from their practice schedules to celebrate Thanksgiving. Both teams will be on the road this weekend in the quarterfiunal round of the NAIA playoffs. Morningside will visit Sioux Falls on Saturday and coach Steve Ryan says a number of the players will get home for the holiday. The school shut down on Tuesday and Ryan says areas families are helping out with the players who can’t get home.Northwestern visits Missouri Valley this weekend and coach Orv Otten says the team will celebrate Thansgiving on campus. Otten calls it a nice break in the middle of a hectic week.
