A man from the northwest Iowa town of Gilmore City is jailed on a charge of attempted murder. The Pocahontas County Sheriff says 64-year-old Don Eslick was arrested Sunday on charges he shot Elaine Eslick in the head with a small caliber handgun. Her injuries were NOT life-threatening. The sheriff says the two are family members and live together but are not husband and wife. Eslick reportedly fled the scene and was arrested in Fort Dodge. He’s also charged with willful injury and domestic abuse assault. Bond is a half-million dollars.
