The much anticipated wrestling dual between Iowa and Iowa State in Iowa city was a one-sided affair. The Hawkeyes won eight of ten matches and rolled to a 24-6 victory over the Cyclones.
The clincher for the Hawkeyes came at 141 pounds when Iowa’s Alex Sirtsis got by Iowa State’s Mitch Mueller 4-1 as the Hawkeyes won seven of the first eight matches. The last match featured an upset as Iowa freshman Ryan Morningstar beat the Cyclones Trent Paulson 3-2 at 157 pounds.
