After sweeping the in-state series the Iowa State women will try to pick on a neighbor. The Cyclones take a 6-1 record into a matchup at home on Saturday night against Minnesota. The Gophers are 8-2 after winning at 25th ranked Nebraska on Tuesday night.

Cyclone coach Bill Fennelly says who says it could be one of the biggest non-conference games they’ve had in Ames in a long time. Fennelly says the Gophers are going to be an NCAA tourney team and he says you don’t get opportunities very often to bring those teams in.

Despite the quick start Fennelly says there are a lot of areas that need improvement. He says at the end of the day you win or you lose and he’s proud of that and proud of being undefeated at home and winning the in-state games, but he says there are things they need to correct.
