A southwest Iowa teen was killed and her two passengers were hurt Thursday in a collision with a semi-truck. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 16-year-old Tascha Brown, of Clarinda, died, after the car she was driving ran a stop sign and hit the rear drive wheels of a semi-tractor before crashing into and going under the trailer.

The accident happened just before one p.m. at the intersection of Page County Road J-64 and Highway 71. One of passengers in Brown’s vehicle, 57-year-old Karen Larsen of Blanchard, was taken by air ambulance to a Kansas City, Missouri, hospital. The other, infant Peyton Brown, was transported to the Clarinda Hospital. The driver of the semi, 30-year-old Travis Pratt, of New Market, was not injured. Officials say Tascha Brown’s body was taken to the D-C-I lab in Ankeny for autopsy.
