It was the second biggest comeback ever for the Drake Bulldogs. Trailing 61-43 in the second half the Bulldogs rallied for a 76-73 win over Cal-Irvine in the Knapp Center,for their fifth straight win. Klayton Korver had a big night for Drake. He finished with 20 points, including four of five from three point range.
Ajay Calvin added 16 points and nine rebounds and Nick Grant was a key during the second half comeback as he finished with 14 points. after being on the losing end of several close games last season the Bulldogs are turning the tables this year. Calvin said on the postgame show on KRNT in Des Moines that those games are in the past. Calvin says this year they got some clutch free throws and finished out the game.
The Bulldogs improved to 6-2. They will host Iowa on Saturday.
