Family members say an Iowa-born Marine was killed in Iraq on Monday. 23-year-old Lance Corporal C.J. Miller of Greenfield died in a roadside bombing. Three other Marines and three Iraqis were also killed in the bombing. Miller graduated from Nodaway Valley High School in 2001. Greenfield schools Superintendent John Dayton remembers Miller.

Dayton says “There was a time in 2003 and 2004 when he volunteered his services as a volunteer wrestling coach at the high school. That speaks volumes in terms of giving back to the community and wanting to help out young men. He loved wrestling, and this was the way he was able to share his talents.” Miller had been married about a year. He was deployed to Iraq in September.
