The Iowa State men snapped a three game losing streak Wednesday night. The Cyclones broke open a close game down the stretch in a 70-59 win over Savannah State.

I-S-U coach Greg McDermott says they’ve had a tough stretch, not from lack of effort, but from lack of execution. McDermott says finals week is always a problem, and they try not to schedule a game in finals week, but he says they had to this year.

McDermott says Savannah State provided a tough test, as they haven’t been blown out much this year. Rashon Clark had 16 points and eight rebounds and says the Cyclones practiced well leading up to the game.

Clark says they had a good practice before the Iowa game, but you wouldn’t have know it the way they played. This time he says they worked on taking that good practice into the game. Clark says the Cyclones focused on getting the ball inside in the second half. Clark says they saw a lot of mismatches throughout the game and tried to take advantage of that.

The Cyclones return to action Saturday against Bradley. that game will be played in Wells Fargo arena in Des Moines.
