The Iowa basketball team returns to the practice floor on Tuesday as the Hawks prepare for their final non-conference game on Saturday when they host Cornell. The Hawkeyes improved to 7-6 over the weekend with a 90-63 win over Texas Southern.

It will be their final game before opening Big Ten play against Michigan State,
Iowa coach Steve Alford says they’re pointing toward that Big Ten opener and says they’ll have plenty of practices to get ready.

Alford says the team is making progress despite being without senior guard Mike Henderson for much of the non-conference slate. Alford says they’ve only had Henderson for two games, so hopefully they’ll be better prepared at the start of the Big 10 season.
