One man’s jailed on three-quarters-of-a-million dollars bond after a couple with Iowa ties were found dead on Christmas Eve at their home in Missouri. Sergeant Jason Clark says Benjamin and Sarah Bonnie were supposed to be at a family dinner on Sunday but never arrived.

The victims were found by other family members after they didn’t show up for the family function. The sergeant says they were found at their home in New Bloomfield, about fifteen miles northeast of the state capital of Jefferson City. Thirty-four-year-old Brian Joseph Dorsey, who’s from the Jefferson City area, is now under arrest in connection with the slayings.

Dorsey is related to 25-year-old Sarah Bonnie, one of the crime victims. Police put out a news release, telling local media they wanted to talk with Dorsey in connection with the murder investigation.
Dorsey turned himself in Tuesday morning, and was arrested on two counts of suspected murder, his bond set at 750-thousand dollars.

The couple’s four-year-old daughter reportedly was found at their home, unharmed. The relatives of 28-year-old Benjamin Bonnie are from the Knoxville, Iowa, area. The man under arrest is related to Sarah Bonnie, reportedly a cousin of the dead woman.

The sergeant says they’re interviewing anybody who’d be considered a “person of interest” but can’t say if they’re actively seeking any other suspects in the slayings. He wasn’t sure on Wednesday afternoon when formal charges would be filed. A local paper is reporting that Dorsey has a criminal record involving drug-related offenses.
