A boy born 63 minutes into the New Year is Iowa’s first baby of 2007.

The boy was born in a Des Moines hospital and was nearly born on his father’s birthday, which is today — January 2nd. The baby’s mother, Wendy, was born on Thanksgiving Day.

The seven-pound-13-ounce baby has been named Denver James Longden. He has an older brother and an older sister. His siblings and his dad out-voted his mom and gave the baby the name “Denver” because it’s the Des Moines family’s favorite football team.

Older brother Jacob was wearing a Denver Broncos t-shirt at the hospital on New Year’s Day.
