The lead will be on the line in the Missouri Valley Conference race when UNI hosts Southern Illinois in the McCloud Center. UNI is 3-0 after a win at home over Evansville while the Salukis are 3-0 after Thursday night’s victory at Drake.

Panther coach Ben Jacobson says their defense has to be really good as the Salukis play good defense and limit your looks at the basket. Jacobson does not think having an extra day to prepare will be a big advantage. He says S-I-U has their top eight guys back, so it won’t be that much of a factor.

Both teams are 12-2 overall.
