Authorities have released the names of the people involved in a fatal weekend crash in rural Hamilton County. Troopers say 76-year-old Vinie Schnell of Webster City was killed in the crash. She was a passenger in the car driven by 77-year-old Delma Schnell, also of Webster City. The car went into a ditch near Blairsburg, vaulted and hit a tree.
Both women were trapped and had to be rescued by emergency personnel. The younger Schnell was taken to Hamilton Hospital in Webster City for treatment. The older woman was declared dead at the scene.
